Bringing Modern Innovations to Our Patients

Improving a patient’s experience is essential. Building lasting relationships is equally important. While personalized treatment is part of what makes individuals walk away satisfied with their results, the use of innovative dental technology is what makes it possible. In our Clearwater dental office, Dr. Cannady is pleased to use various devices and equipment that are designed to produce high-quality images for proper diagnoses, create more accurate treatment plans, and offer greater precision when performing extensive procedures.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

When a more thorough analysis of your head, neck, and mouth is required, Dr. Cannady will use our CT/Cone Beam Scanner. Delivering high-resolution imaging with the help of a 360-degree rotating arm that captures hundreds of photos in seconds, they compile to create a 3D model that illuminates even the most intricate components of your oral and facial structures (i.e., nerve pathways, blood vessels, bones, gums, teeth, etc.). This is extremely helpful when preparing for dental implant placement or root canal treatment.

Digital Dental Impressions

Our iTero digital impression system makes crafting restorations an easier and more patient-friendly process. Instead of gagging on cold dental putty that would drip out of the corner of your mouth, a small, handheld device scans your teeth and gums, creating a three-dimensional model on a chairside monitor that is easy for you and your dentist to review. The model is then sent to a local laboratory so that your custom restoration can be fabricated.

Soft Tissue Laser

When treating gum disease or creating a more even gum line, we use our AMD Picasso Diode laser. This unique device offers pinpoint precision, ensuring no healthy gum tissue is touched while addressing infected areas of the mouth. It also moves quickly and without unnecessary vibrations, heat, or noise. With minimal bleeding and swelling because of how it cauterizes during the process, you can expect your recovery time to be much smoother and quicker compared to traditional methods.

Digital Cavity Detection System

Early detection of tooth decay is crucial if you want to avoid restorative dentistry treatment in the future. This is why we use the Dexis CariVu cavity detection system. Designed to identify even the smallest areas of decay, its transillumination technology exposes cavities that exist on the surface, inside, and in between teeth. The use of this device sets us apart from other dental practices in the area, allowing us to deliver timelier oral healthcare that reduces the need for more extensive treatments later on.
